Stainless Steel Extension

The Stainless Steel Extension, also known as a stainless steel tap extension, was introduced by Swiss Fittings at the beginning of 2016. Previously, such extensions were made from brass, bronze or copper (DIN 3523, DIN EN 12164). Stainless steel extensions have several key advantages when compared to extensions made with other materials. The advantages include:  corrosion resistance, greater installation versatility and design aspects.

Swiss Fittings offers the stainless steel extension in several different dimensions and sizes [1/2” to 3/4”, 15 mm (.59 inches) to 40 mm (1.58 inches)].  Swiss Fittings can offer directly from its production site the stainless steel extensions according to clients’ provided dimensions and norms using standard threads (ISO7-1, NPT, BSP).

The stainless steel extension has become a vital component for households and industrial installations, especially in the use of drinking water applications. Usually it is installed to bridge a gap where there is limited access to the water outlet. The stainless steel extension is usually used to extend the inlets or outlets of valves, fittings, and sanitary systems. Especially in bathrooms the extension can be used as a connector to the faucet and the wall plate elbow. The external male thread has an inner star shape allowing it to be screwed from the front-side using adequate tooling. It elegantly bridges the back installations with the visual front installations.
